The largest country in Latin America deplores in total 80 120 dead from COVID – 18 and more than 2.1 million confirmed cases of contamination with 20 new cases in one day.

Figures however considered to be largely inferior to reality by the scientific community, due to the insufficiency of tests in this country whose president, Jair Bolsonaro, has also been infected, as well as several members of his government , and is in quarantine.

On Friday, the WHO said the pandemic had reached a plateau, calling on authorities to seize this “opportunity to fend off the disease”.

The seven-day average of deaths has remained above 1000 daily deaths for over a month, with large regional disparities.

While the number of daily deaths has stabilized in some regions, the curves are rising sharply in areas affected later, especially the south and center-west.
